I am a Norwegian visual artist based in Scotland since 2016, exploring colour and form through painting and mixed media and how it can influence human energy and moo

Raised in Norway by parents descending from small farms and fishermen, I was introdused to nature and wildlife. To beinnature informs much of my work today.

As a child and as a young person I would paint and draw most days. Being highly sensitive to my surroundings, it gave me a silent inner roomwhere I could express myself freely.

My work

I am inspired by the enigma of nature and it’s elements and by human emotions and feelings.

I am also influenced by my Norwegian, Scandinavian, background and culture from the high North, the vast open sea, the storms and the white snow. I know how light and darkness and colours influence us in so many ways. This is what informs my art.

I use acrylic and oil paint on both larger and smaller canvas and board. I may occasionally add collage and other found materials.

My works are abstract and may have some level of animistic representation. I usually have an intuitive approach and I like contrasts between the spontanious and the deliberate. I search for the subtle and the obvious, the playful and the immediate and above all – colours, light and energy.
